Each year the Truth Campaign sends a street team along with all the major music festivals. At the festivals they promote their anti-smoking message with branded games, contests, and music booths. Rather than just giving away their sweet prizes, they asked me to come up with a couple games based on some of the facts from their campaign.
To demonstrate the fact that second-hand smoke is just as dangerous as smoking, we changed the rules to the classic water balloon fight. Any one not directly hit with a balloon but still splashed on was out. Of course, everyone got a prize but the best ones were saved for those who stayed clear of the second hand splash.
Abusing your lungs has never been more fun than with Lung Piñata. But just like smoking, the fun is only temporary. These lung piñatas were filled with black licorice (which is universally hated).
Every 6.5 seconds someone dies a smoking-related death. We took this fact and turned it into a game of musical chairs. Every 6.5 seconds the music would stop and someone would be out. The emcee would then read their obituary and give them a consolation prize.
